Appearance / Color: Opal in matrix (the base variety of rock that opal is sometimes found in) gives a beautiful multi-colored impression.Infinitely variable it tends to glow with different colors depending on the light source.
Source: Found in Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Slovakia and elsewhere.
Birthstone: Sagittarius and Cancer.
Properties: The matrix is not suitable for engraving owing to its pattination.
